About Me

Hi, my name is Brett Martin and this is my web site. I was born on June 1st 1984. I graduated from Penn State with a bachelor's degree in Information Systems and Technology.. Some of my interest include programming and web site design, brewing beer, building computer systems, custom modifications, skiing (downhill and jumping), soccer, rock climbing, mountain biking, camping, and movies just to name a few.

Why did I build this site? And why is it called PC Mofo? This site exist to show many of my various projects, and modifications as well as a collection of personal photos. Many of the things that I have built are very unique. I enjoy sharing them as well as explaining how they were made. I have my roommate to thank for the name, my web site is mostly computer related yet not about one exact topic so the name is cool and computer related without being too descriptive.

I built this web site from scratch in notepad at first using just html then later adding PHP and finally CSS. The entire site is structured and formatted using a CSS style sheet. I have also updated the entire web site with my home made content management system. This includes the ability to add/delete/edit pages, news posts, users, pictures, albums, and almost everything else on the site. There is also a multi level user system that allow others to view special pages or post news on the main page yet restrict all other admin options. I have spent a good ammount of time on this content managment system so that I can mantain my site from any location without the need to edit code or write html everytime I want to make a change.

I am proficient in or have taken collage classes in C++, HTML, PHP, MySQL, CSS, Visual Basic, and Java. Thanks to my background in C++ in high school and college learning PHP was an easy transition and I will let my site's scripts speak for them selves. I have built over 50 computers for my self as well as other people and have extensive experience troubleshooting and fixing Windows based computers. I have also spent 2 semesters working for Penn-State Res Com as a computer consultant trouble shooting student computers and campus network connections. My services are available for web site and graphic design as well as computer assembly and repair including virus and spy ware removal.
