This is my Xbox. I wanted more than just a simple gaming consol, so I did what anyone would do, I got out my dremel and made it better!

Cosmetic Mods

The first day I had my Xbox I had it opened and in pieces on my floor figuring out what mod chip and firmware I needed. While it was apart and I was waiting for the chip to come in I decided to make it look a little better than the ugly black and green thing it had going on. First I removed the jewel then painted the "X" and various parts blue with some Krylon paint. I then made the jewel clear and put window tint on the back to make it apear black when the unit was powered off. When it is turned on 6 LEDs ligh up around the jewel to make it glow blue. I also replaced the 3mm LEDs on the front eject button with blue ones.

Hardware Mods

Inside I started with a 60 gig hard drive I could spare for my xbox to store movies, games and other files. Since I was using a bigger hard drive I wanted a better fan. I managed to get an 80mm fan inside where the 70mm fan used to be, also the fan runs on 12v instead of 7 and has a built in temp sensor so it only spins as fast as it needs to. End result is a quieter and cooler box. After that was taken care of I installed my mod chip and put everything back together.
